A laborer and his wife were sitting upset. The wife asked why are you upset?
The laborer said: “I am working on a businessman’s house, tomorrow is his day off. On the day he has a day off; he comes to the house and inspects every inch of his home. If any defect is found, the contractor deducts our wages as a fine. This is the only problem and you tell me why you are upset.
The wife said: “I work in a lady doctor’s house, tomorrow is her day off too. And on the day she has a day off, she gets work standing on her head. She says “I should be able to see your shape in each tile”. I don’t know what holiday tomorrow is”!
Their younger son said: “I tell you, tomorrow is Labor Day. That’s why all the wealthy people will have a holiday!”
The laborer and his wife looked at their son in surprise and asked: “How do you know?”
The son said: “Today the Master was saying to reach the service station at 7 a.m. If you are late after 7 o’clock, I will break your ribs. Tomorrow is Labor Day and it is a holiday for the wealthy people, that’s why there will be a lot of traffic.”

“یومِ مزدور” پر ایک مزدور کی غمزدہ کہانی
ایک مزدور اور اس کی بیوی پریشان بیٹھے تھے ۔ بیوی نے پوچھا تم کیوں پریشان ہو؟
مزدور بولا : “میں جن صاحب کی کوٹھی پر مزدوری کر رہا ہوں ، کل ان کی چھٹی ہے۔ جس دن ان کی چھٹی ہوتی ہے ، وہ کوٹھی پر آ کر ایک ایک انچ کا جائزہ لیتے ہیں ، کوئی نقص نکل آے تو ٹھیکیدار ہم مزدوروں کے پیسے کاٹ لیتا ہے ۔ “بس یہی پریشانی ہے ۔ ۔ ۔ اور تم بتاؤ تم کیوں پریشان ہو؟
بیوی بولی : “جن ڈاکٹر صاحبہ کے گھر میں کام کرتی ہوں ، کل ان کی چھٹی ہے ۔ جس دن ان کی چھٹی ہو اس دن سر پر کھڑے ہو کر کام کرواتی ہیں ۔ کہتی ہیں کہ ایک ایک tile میں تمہاری شکل نظر آنی چاہیے ۔ پتہ نہیں کل کس بات کی چھٹی ہے
“.ان کا چھوٹا بیٹا بولا : “میں بتاتا ہوں، کل یومِ مزدور ہے ۔ اس لئے سب بڑے صاحب چھٹی کریں گے!
“مزدور اور اس کی بیوی نے حیرت سے بیٹے کو دیکھا اور پوچھا : “تمہیں کیسے پتہ؟
بیٹا بولا : “آج استاد کہہ رہا تھا کہ صبح 7 بجے سروس سٹیشن پہنچ جانا ۔ 7 بجے سے دیر ہوئی تو پسلیاں توڑ دوں گا ۔کل یومِ مزدور ہے اور صاحب لوگوں کی چھٹی ہے ، گاڑیوں کا زیادہ رش ہو گا”۔
